“The Lord isn’t really being slow about his
promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He… wants
everyone to repent.” – 2 Peter 3: 9
A DEAR friend once wrote that the “world is sliding into a moral
abyss… it is in a worse state than in the days of Noah” – and we all know what
God did then. I agree to an extent - but if ever in history there was a time to
repent, it is now. As we do that, let’s also take heart from the scripture
above. People have been seeing the end times coming for donkeys of years, but
the Lord is being patient... “for YOUR sake”. Take courage; He
wants to save us, and for us to build our lives on a firm foundation by making
Christ our bedrock and by affirming our faith that He will help us overcome the
sins, moral depravity, strife, and wars, that precede His day of judgement. Remember,
1 John 5: 4, “For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this
victory through our faith.” He
wants us to repent and obey Him.
