“I have heard all about you, Lord. I am filled with awe by your amazing works.
In this time of our deep need,
help us again as you did in years gone by.
And in your anger,
remember your mercy.” – Habakkuk 3: 2
NOTHING is impossible
for God, the scriptures assure us. Whether it is in defeating evil, or in
pouring out blessings to His people, His power is fearsome. The full realization
of God’s mighty power sapped the prophet Habakkuk’s strength to the point where
his knees collapsed. But still, in his prayer quoted in part above, Habakkuk
waited quietly for “the coming
day when disaster will strike the people who invade us” (3: 16). So, if you are still waiting for your breakthrough, or are in fear of the
course of world events after the Russian invasion of the Ukraine, then praise
the Lord, realize He can save you, and pray for His grace to strengthen you so,
like Habakkuk, you can see the victory beyond the agony and the rainbow through
the storm. Remember, Jesus said “Anything is possible if a
person believes.” (Mark 9: 23)
