It’s worth the trouble

‘In panic I cried out, “I am cut off from the Lord!” But You heard my cry for mercy and answered my call for help.’ – Psalms 31: 22

MANY people I’ve heard of blame God for the suffering they’re going through. “Why does God allow this to happen? Why doesn’t He help me?” That is when we need to realize that God’s New Covenant of Christ was gifted to us in order to enable us to overcome our earthly hardships, temptations, failures, and pain. Jesus came to earth to suffer for us, for the good of mankind. The gospel of Christ expounds the promise spelled out unambiguously in Romans 8: 28 that “in all things” God works for the good of those who love Him. God uses our trials, our suffering, to build faith, patience, and our strength of character; He hears us when we cry out to Him. Paul knew about God’s tough love; he believed it and it inspired him to say, “Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecution, in distresses, for Christ’s sake.” (2 Corinthians 12: 10.)

PRAYER THOUGHT: God please let me see the troubles I face as part of building my faith in Your mercy and in preparing me for my role in Your Kingdom. Amen.
