“Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and
each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive.”- Luke 17:4
EVERY grudge
you’ve got against friend or foe is a chance to get closer to God, because God
loves it when you forgive. Jesus never got stuck in resentment. We do, I know.
Forgiving others is perhaps a Christian’s toughest task. Yet unexpected
blessings await once we forgive for the Bible tells us there is peace and
freedom in forgiveness. So, we must
take care if we want God’s peace that we don’t hang on to our old grudges or
selfishness. We can’t forgive others too often, and the tougher that is, the
better for us. At the same time, the more we confess the magnitude of our own
sins, the deeper our joy will be at God’s forgiveness.
PRAYER
THOUGHT: Please Lord, help me forgive those who anger and hurt me, and also
help me fully repent. Amen.
