Saying is believing

‘Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it’. - Proverbs 18:21

A SLIP of the tongue can lacerate. The Bible is emphatic about the power of the tongue to do good or harm, and that’s a powerful reason to think before we speak. The words that pass our lips have the power to build people up or tear them down. Whether by lack of forethought, or deliberate intention to inflict hurt, a tiny spark can destroy a forest. But words that help and heal are” pure... peace loving…full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds…and always sincere” (James 3: 17}.  In fact, the words we speak can bring great blessings and can become a life skill if they exclude the negative and accentuate instead God’s affirmative biblical promises. His Words spoken by us have great power, at times of illness or being downcast. To speak them boldly over yourself and others is essential to our well-being.

“Then keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies! “– Psalm 34: 13
