“Trust the Lord and follow
him. He will give you the land, and you will see the wicked destroyed. – Psalm
37: 34”
CHANGE is in the air. And we here
in South Africa, need to couple the ‘new normal’ changes in daily living forced
on us by a pandemic, to the changes inherent in the prospect of freedom from
one-party dominance (and corruption) of our governors. It is time for multitude
layers and tides of prayer to rise to heaven asking God to deliver this land in
changing times. Opposition, in many different guises, to the on-going
corruption, incompetence and thievery of the dominant political order, has
loosened the grim grip of greed on the control of towns and cities across the
land in the recent municipal voting. Now we must pray for order, for unity, for
a national commitment to good, not evil, in order for this change to flourish.
Pray for our elected leaders. May they know our Lord personally. And as
Jeremiah 29: 11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,
says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and
a hope.” – Jeremiah 29: 11
