“The one thing I ask of the Lord - the thing I
seek most – Is to live in the House of the Lord all the days of my life.” - Psalm
27: 4
IF you could ask
God for only one thing – just one – what would it be? The Bible has a
suggestion (see the scripture above) we would be wise to follow, for although
we would indeed only be asking one thing, all our needs would be met – not to
mention your deepest longings. In Matthew 6: 33, Jesus puts it like this: “But seek first the kingdom of the Lord…and
all these things will be given you as well.” Psalm 27 also reveals the
full riches your one-off request would yield, including lasting pleasure, His
unfailing love, guidance, protection, peace and the blessings of health and
vitality. To top it all, God promises you a joyful life as long as you remain
with Him! Wow! What more could we ask for?
