“So Christ has set us free. Now make sure that you stay free...” – Galatians 5: 1
A FRIEND
recently said Christianity was too demanding. “I can’t do that, but I have
to do that, or else,” he said. Not true, buddy. Christ sets us free. It
costs us nothing – it’s free. God’s new covenant under Christ frees us from the
laws, and bonds of the past. With the Spirit of Christ comes forgiveness, freedom
to forgive, strength and freedom to overcome human weakness, the freedom to
love and freedom from the desire to sin. God is not out to get us, but to love
us. The New Covenant under Christ is His gift to us of righteousness, new life,
and access to the heart of God. We are also freed from being misled because one
of the gifts of the Spirit enables us to discern right from wrong, especially
when it comes to increasingly self-serving societal/political demands and
man-made religious flaws. Help Him make this freedom true in your life through loving Him.
