Perfect love?

“ And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. “ – 1 John 4: 17

WHERE is the perfect love God wants to give us? The love for all mankind, the love that never fails, the love that forgives when we are aggrieved? Christ gave His life with perfect love for us. He died that we might have it too; so that we could face judgement day knowing we have lived with His kind of love and forgiveness. Where is it? Can we still show it? By the grace of God, we can. But not until we receive the “power of the Spirit” (see Acts 1: 8) in our hearts that empowers us to forgive not just the little hurts, but the big ones too, inflicted on us by those God wants to experience His kind of love.
