Make God happy

“We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will …Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord…” Colossians 1: 9 -10

THE most powerful reason for striving to live a godly life in an increasingly godless world is that it will make God himself happy if you succeed. Whatever people may think of you, whether they mock you for being a “holy Joe”,  or whether they are filled with admiration, doesn't matter; what is important is that God will be chuffed. 

     It will mean that His plan to reconcile mankind to Himself is working in your case. It is God’s desire that we see Jesus as His purpose and model for restoring the world. Paul knew that and spelled it out for us in Colossians 1: 19 - 20: “For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself.”

PRAYER THOUGHT: Pray Colossians 1: 9 - 10 over yourself and others.
