MY wife was
reading a Karen Kingsbury’s novel, Take One.
She felt moved to read the following passage to someone close to us who is
facing a seemingly impossible problem:
‘Lisa’s shock and joy came out as a relieved
laugh. “Only God could have done this.
“…That’s
how He likes to do things – at the last minute, so we’ll know for sure it wasn’t
our brilliance or our great plans or our hard work that brought about the
miracle. It’s Him.”’
We
reflected on this. I hadn't thought of it that way. When solutions come, no
matter how elusive they may have been, we tend to think, “Phew, I did it.” But
when we are at a loss, when we feel like giving up, that’s when God steps in. Confirmation
came quickly. A matter of hours later, I read Angus Buchan on facebook: “The
day you say, it can’t be done, that’s the same day the Lord says, “I can do it.”
He quoted Luke 18: 27, “The things which
are impossible with men are possible with God.”
We await the miracle in faith…
