God's keys

“And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven - Matthew 16:19

IF you have keys to a home, you have authority in that home. If you give the keys to someone else, you also give them your authority. Would you give the keys to your home to someone you didn't trust? Jesus has given His keys, His authority, His power, to His disciples on earth to do God’s will. What they say will be done right here, on earth, and enforced from heaven.

      That’s how much God trusts those who put their faith in Jesus. That’s the privilege of His grace that we can never, ever earn or deserve. That’s the power of prayer that we use when we ask God’s help to do His will here and now.
