“Seek the Kingdom of God above all
else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.” – Mathew
6: 33
IN times like today when our
attention is glued to a deeply troubled world, we should renew our minds and
our hearts by counting our spiritual blessings and promises. His blessings are
myriad; if we put God first in our lives, He promises to bless those who are
poor, those who mourn, those who are humble, those who seek justice, those who
are merciful, those with pure hearts, those who work for peace, those who are
persecuted for doing right, and those who are mocked because they follow Jesus.
Jesus gave this remarkable list in His Sermon on the Mount, so its accuracy is
beyond doubt. Regardless of the crime, corruption, inhumanity, and wars in our
material world, those with faith in Jesus will know divine favor. If you are at
a low point, stand up for Jesus, fight to be righteous, and His values and the
love and mercy of God’s blessings will fill your soul.
