EVERY February 14, as little red
emoji hearts, red roses, Valentine’s cards, and champagne dinners warm the
hearts of couples around the world, I find myself wanting to write a reminder
that love comes from God and that His love for us is the greatest joy under the
sun and the moon. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.” (John 3: 16). He didn’t just send us a Valentine’s
card, He sent us Jesus and His all-embracing love to share with others. All
this is a God-given reason to love Him, to love Jesus, in return. That joy
enables our love to grow more perfect by the day, not just on February 14.
