“My brothers and sisters, you will have many kinds of
trouble. But this gives you a reason to be very happy. You know
that when your faith is tested, you learn to be patient in suffering.” – James
1: 2 -3
A YOUNG woman who is living with cancer, was singing on an
American talent show. Asked by one of the judges whether she was happy, she
replied with a lovely smile, “You can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore
before you are happy.” She believed in miracles and went on to receive what
they call a “golden buzzer” for an inspiring song she wrote and sang called
“It’s OK”. Whatever the result of the show, she’s also “OK” in God’s eyes. He
wants us to be happy even in times of pain. He’s whole being is about
compassion and love. The happiness she feels despite her pain is not a
contradiction in terms; when we are weak, He is strong. At this unlikely
venue, He has used this skinny, ailing young cancer sufferer called Nightbirde
to remind hordes of breast cancer sufferers world-wide that He brings peace, hope,
emotional healing, and even happiness to those who believe in miracles. Let’s
pray for a miracle healing for this talented young singer has taught us a
lesson in love.
