“The Lord doesn’t see things
the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks
at the heart.”- 1 Samuel 16: 7
WE need to get over ourselves, and
into Jesus. Ever since Adam, we’ve been obsessed – or at least pre-occupied –
with ourselves. God knows how we feel and where our priority lies. But He loves
us anyway – so much, that He sent His son Jesus to die and be resurrected so
that we could be created anew by loving Him and putting Him first in our lives.
It doesn’t matter to Him how we appear to others – whether we warm a pew at
church just to look good, or whether we strive for celebrity status – He just
wants us, deep in our hearts, to love Jesus. Our pride must not be in
ourselves, but “in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things He
planned for us long ago.” (Ephesians 2: 9)
