Refreshing life

Today I use the example of a remarkable young boy to illustrate the power of God to help us recover:

 

“For those who find me find life

and receive favour from the Lord.” – Proverbs 8: 35

I HEARD a remarkable story about a young South African boy who recently had to have an arm amputated after a fall in a motocross race. He is said to have told his father not to worry - he couldn’t understand why it had happened to him, but God must have had a reason! What an inspiring example of trust and faith. He somehow understood that things can happen for a reason, and that God does use our weaknesses and deficiencies for His purpose on earth. And it’s true - God the Creator is the giver of life, so He can give new life, new favour and purpose to those who need physical, mental or spiritual courage, renewal or healing. He often uses our weaknesses to give a second chance to those who obey him but are handicapped. A remarkable example is that limbless Aussie evangelist Nic Vujicic! God sent Jesus to give us a second chance, so none of us, whatever our handicap, need ever reach a stage where new life cannot be renewed, recharged and breathed into you. Wherever you are on your own earthly journey, seek Him by confirming your faith and trust through prayer - He will refresh you and use you.
