“Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the
oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans.
Fight for the rights of widow.” - Isaiah 1: 17.
‘No, I will not abandon you or
leave you as orphans in the storm—I will come to you.” – John 14: 18
AS the world changes seasons, and we here in the south celebrate Spring
Day, let us pray for a new season of loving care for the lost and lonely little
people around the globe. Let the marvel and beauty of God’s renewal, remind us that
there are
babies and children among the countless thousands of refugees seeking a home
and new beginnings in shattered countries like Afghanistan. Let us pray for a
new season of God’s love for them, wherever they are, and let us give thanks
too for those who create new lives for orphans, whether they’re sad, lonely and
hungry because of neglect, broken families or because of national strife. True
religion, the Bible says, is taking care of orphans. What greater care is there
than in the arms of a loving family? Let us pray each and every child/orphan
enjoys a new season of life through God’s love.
