“Who
is this man?” they asked each other. “When he gives a command, even the wind
and the waves obey him.” – Luke 8: 2
WITH the changing
season’s cold front winds presumably gusting, a poet once wrote:
‘I can't explain the reasons why, it
(the wind) moves me close to tears,
Or something in the season's change, will find me wandering here.’
God can explain it all, the tears and
the wandering included. In the original Greek, the same word meant “wind” and
“spirit’ and the Bible aptly uses the word “wind” to represent the Spirit of
God that moves where it will and cannot be contained. So, as the winter winds blow
around us, let’s decide to step outside the confines of our normal lives and
invite the wind, the Spirit of God, to herald a new change of season in our own
life and in our nation, blowing away the spiritual winter and refreshing us.
The “wind” obeys Him.
