“Trust in the
Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your
ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” - Proverbs 3:5-6
WHEN we’re trying to understand what to do next in this complex time we live in, turn to God for guidance and trust Him above all else. But how do we understand what He wants us to do; what His will is? God guides us in many ways, chiefly through His Word, through the wisdom of Christian friends and churches, but also with personal insights, including that “still, silent, voice” that makes you ‘know that you know that you know.” But you must be totally committed to being obedient when seeking guidance. Trust in Him is the trigger. And remember that God is also able to help you help yourself. Scripture tells us he grants “the treasure” of common sense to those who trust Him. The book of wisdom, Proverbs, is quite specific: “My child, don’t lose sight of common sense and discernment. Hang on to them.” (3: 21)
