"So we don't look
at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot
be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot
see will last forever.” - 2 Corinthians 4:15 – 18
HAD a coffee chat under a tree
today with an old friend that centred around the fact that the world is in a
state. The taxis are on strike, some airlines are grounded, we still wear
masks, getting a visa takes weeks, service delivery is a distant memory, able
people cannot find employment, petrol is so pricy that you can’t fill your
tank, corruption is rife, millions of people are suffering in the Ukraine… not
a pleasant chat! Thank the Lord I was reminded that when you are surrounded by seemingly
insoluble troubles that go on and on and you can’t see answers, don’t stress –
go to God’s Word. It gives us the comfort and the guidance to be hopeful when
all seems dark. Christ suffered for us – His mercy lasts forever. So, cheer up,
pray and believe that there will be many times in our lives that God will work
things out for us with unseen solutions.
