Life’s good things

“No good thing will He withhold
From those who walk uprightly.” – Psalm 84: 11

NOT everything we desire is good, so we can’t rely on God for everything our hearts desire, particularly if they fall in the realm of self-indulgence, as so many do. But God’s promise is our eternal assurance of a good return if we pursue things that are fine, blessed, advantageous, helpful, kind and holy – and especially if they are for others in need. His Word and Spirit encourage and enable us to be upstanding, so that the promise can be fulfilled for us as we continue to walk upright, facing what the world throws at us, and not slacking on our faith.
