“Finishing is
better than starting.
Patience is
better than pride.” - Ecclesiastes 7: 8
“And remember,
our Lord’s patience gives people the time to be saved.” – 2 Peter 3: 15
PATIENCE has become an outmoded virtue – but by the grace of God it still
obtainable. We live in the age of instant access. If we can’t google it, snap
scan or EFT a payment, or have ready-made dinner delivered to the doorstep, impatience
takes over. This source of frustration manifests itself in many spheres of life
among children, teenagers and adults as the demand for instant satisfaction is multiplied.
But patience is a gift of the spirit, and is essential to our material world, just
as it is in our search for spiritual peace. Never before has it been more difficult
to learn to wait on the Lord. But we must remember that, even if it takes our
entire lifetime, He is patiently waiting for each and every one of us.
