Surpassing pleasure

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” – Romans 8: 28
THIS is a scripture to think on and pray repeatedly because it applies to so many life experiences. We all know how complex the world is - full of doubts, troubles, fears, clashing cultures, policies and lifestyles. But God doesn’t want us to stress and be confounded about how it will all work out; trust His Word and trust Him to work it all out. A perpetual example is the human scramble for “things”; the global economy itself hinges on the need to supply “things” of all kinds and crime syndicates burgeon on the greed. God has ways of helping us meet needs – also of others - in unexpected, pleasant ways. But His priority is to bring it all together for our inner spiritual peace and joy that is eternal and surpasses all passing pleasures.
