Quick to listen

“Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen…” – James 1: 19

CONTINUING yesterday’s theme of dancing with the Lord, keeping in step with Him and letting Him lead, we today do another “quick” step (so to speak). The fundamental truth that we must be “quick” to listen is part of the rhythm of the Bible. God himself is quick to listen – to us. His Word says if we call to Him, He will hear us (Jeremiah 33: 3). And in Romans is the revelation that “faith comes from hearing” the Good News of Christ. But we must be listening. Then, if “His words remain in us”, we can ask, and it will be done. But we must be listening. We don’t always know what the next steps will be, but if we are quick to listen, the faith that comes from hearing can light up the dancefloor of life.
