Free for all

“So Christ has set us free. Now make sure that you stay free...” – Galatians 5: 1
A FRIEND recently said Christianity took away too many options. “I can’t do that, I have to do that, or else,” he said. Not true, buddy. Christ sets us free. It costs us nothing – it’s free. God’s new covenant under Christ frees us from sin and from the bonds of the past. With the Spirit of Christ comes freedom to forgive, freedom to overcome human weakness, the freedom to love and freedom from the desire to sin. You don’t have to try to abide by God’s laws; it comes naturally. We are also freed from increasingly self-serving societal norms and man-made religious flaws. A wise man once said that “freedom discovers man the moment he loses concern over what impression he is making and stops seeking human approval.” He sent His Spirit to make our freedom last through patience, faithfulness and self-control. Feel free to experience this joy.
