“Don’t
let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that
come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world,
rather than from Christ.” – Colossians 2: 8
IT really isn’t easy to hate the sin but love the sinner. People do
detestable things that make them hard to stomach. Yet our default attitude
should be a positive one that prevents us being “captured” and dragged into the
circle of criticism and hate. We must protect our minds by wearing God’s “helmet
of salvation” and living in hope. And that entails building our lives and
attitudes on Christ and letting our roots grow down to Him so that our faith,
love and trust in Him will overflow whenever dastardly human deeds and evil
spiritual powers threaten to capture us.
