THE depth and width that the gospel has penetrated in our multi-national,
multi-ethic, multi-cultural world was delightfully illustrated at the finishing
line of South Africa’s world famous Comrades ultra-marathon, which a hardy
horde of over 15 000 men and women completed yesterday. They indeed came
from far and wide and a surprising number of them used the TV coverage to gasp
their thanks to God for helping them finish or to brandish banners proclaiming
Jesus. All the runners - including some in their 70’s – were examples of
physical courage and God be praised too for the surprising number who served to
remind that His Word knows no social barriers.
The Gospel has come an incredibly long way...
