“If you abide
in Me, and My words abide in you...” John 15: 7
I AM so grateful to Gerjo Ben who, through his Crossroads247 ministry,
asked in effect: If you were to define the crux of the gospels in just one
verse, what would it be? Aware that this has been the stuff that sects can be
made of, I thought, prayed – and asked. The first answer was from my wife: “For God so loved the world that He gave His
only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.” – John 3: 16.
My own heart told me: "I stand at the door and knock. If anyone
hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in." (Revelation 3:20).
But I couldn’t get Acts 1: 8 out of my mind: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you
will be my witnesses...”
My own little Think&Pray ministry is centred on Romans 12: 2: "…but let God transform you into a new
person by changing the way you think. Then
you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and
perfect."
None of us can grasp the fullness of God’s Word. But the Spirit of
Christ gives each of us the power of life, of revelation and of His guidance.
Be obedient to the words He uses to inspire you. And it’s a richly rewarding experience
to ponder them, list them – and then try to be His living scriptures.
