Listen to Him...the truth

‘Simon Peter replied, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life.”’ – John 6: 68

SIMON Peter knew it when many others all around were full of doubt – Jesus has all the answers. “You have the words that give eternal life”, he said. If ever Jesus needed to hear that from someone, it was then, after He had asked Simon Peter whether he too was going to leave him. People were deserting Him left, right and centre.

      So it is today. There are many places where Christianity is on the retreat and there are many who say of Christ’s teachings, as some disciples did in verse 60: “This is very hard to understand, how can anyone accept it?”  We should emulate Simon Peter’s reply at every opportunity. In this fickle world, when all else is questioned, scrutinised, said and done, only Christ’s words still stand holy , divine and come from God for our salvation.
