A life worth living

 “Carefully determine what pleases the Lord.” – Ephesians 5: 10

THIS simple statement is profound when you think about it carefully (full of care). Only when we know what pleases God, can we live lives that please Him. The Lord sent Jesus to show us how to please Him, and perhaps the reason we are called “human beings” is so that we must try to “be” like Him; not “human doings”, because we can’t “do” all the things that He did. But first we must know (“carefully determine”) what pleases Him, how He wants us to “be”. We must learn and grow to be more like Him every day. Earthly ambitions pale before the pleasure of pleasing God. And if we can ever touch His heart, life will have been worth living.
