“Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” – Matthew 5: 5
IT may seem hard to be meek if you’re an achiever, but God wants you
to be both. The truth is that humble people have the nod of God, and He makes
them strong. In a biblical context being meek doesn’t mean to be a whimp. It is
a godly quiet confidence that Christians need to show in a world where
arrogance is centre-stage. As we see in the example of Jesus, gentleness can be
tough, disciplined and powerful. God blesses the meek, He delights in them,
guides their steps and gives them strength to perform mighty deeds that earn
His inheritance. If we want the fruit of greater humility in our lives, we
can pray for quiet confidence that, while strong, is also considerate toward
others.
