“No, O people, the Lord has told you
what is good,
and this is what he requires of you:
to do what is right, to love mercy,
and to walk humbly with your God.” – Micah 6: 8
THE ideal Christian life is not
complex to understand. It is really quite simple. God wants us to live changed
lives based on Jesus. The scripture quoted above spells it out nicely. To act
justly, to love mercy, to be humble and to live in obedience to God. The
rewards are also beautifully spelled out in Hebrews 6: 9 – 12, which in essence
says that we were meant for the “better things that come with salvation”
- to keep loving others in the knowledge that God will not forget the
love we have shown for Him, and that we can remain certain that God will fulfil
our hopes as we inherit all His promises. Let’s keep these things in our
prayers, and in our lives.
