“For since our friendship with God was
restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will
certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can
rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus
Christ has made us friends of God.” – Romans *: 10 – 11
SO Easter’s come and gone, what now? For those who found
Christ, the future is bright; for those believers who came closer to Christ, we
must continue to celebrate and (as the scripture above says) “rejoice” our wonderful
relationship with God Almighty because we believe that Christ died, and rose
again, for us. There is so much we can do as beneficiaries of the fact that
Christ made us members of God’s family. We are forgiven, we are redeemed, we
are strengthened because we are inheritors of God’s love. We have new and
abundant life. Christ’s great commandment is to love each other as He loved us,
by dying on the cross. He gives us love, above all to love each other– our
families, our neighbors near and far (including the ones we try to avoid), and
those we know who need love and understanding most. Jesus on the cross, is our
savior, our model, our inspiration not only Good Friday and Easter Monday, but
every day of the week, every week, and forever.
