“One
day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and
never give up.” – Luke 18: 1
THE
fact that we pray at all should be an example of our faith in God, and that He is
listening. But the Lord loves prayer that is persistent and heart-felt. It can’t
just be a routine, like grace just rattled off so that we can start eating. Jesus
prayed in faith persistently, whatever the circumstances, and urged us to do
the same. But do we have the confidence – the faith – to “never give up”? No
matter how grim things look, prayer itself must be our confirmation to Christ, our
intercessor with God, that we trust Him with all our heart, even though He sometimes
answers in ways we don’t foresee, and which may at times be meant to test our
patience and resolve.
