Where love starts

“We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us…” - 1 John 3 16
CAN we live truly unselfish lives in which others matter more to us than we do? Jesus did. He died so that we could be saved and gave a new commandment - “love each other, just as I have loved you”. But where are on earth do we start? Clearly, we don’t love “everybody” enough to die for them. Simply put, we should beware of being ruled by self-love, and become more aware of the needs of others. We all need love, to give it, and to receive it. And the reason God put love in our hearts is so that we can help Him reach out to “our brothers and sisters.” If we find that tough, He will help us with the experience of His love and with the deep gratification that comes from knowing you have done His will.
