Promises that matter

God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.” – 2 Samuel 22: 31
WE all face adversity, sometimes daily, certainly often. But there are many reasons why we should be brave when things are stressful. If people know for sure that some problem they face will be resolved, they can be at peace – and that is one reason why God wants us to believe that all His promises will be fulfilled (see above). A couple of examples: nothing we may do that worries us can separate us from His love (Romans 8: 39); He provides our daily bread - physically and spiritually - and we can do “all things” through Christ’s strength (Philippians 4: 13). When in deep trouble, you can rely on His right hand to save you (Psalm 138: 7); call on Him when you don’t understand things, He will enlighten you (Ephesians 1: 17);  even when you feel the world is against you, if God is with you, no one else matters and, at the end of it all, ultimate victory is yours through Christ. (Romans 8: 31 - 38).
