your hand would lead me, your right hand would hold me fast.” –Psalm 139: 10
IN an old notebook I found a phrase I once jotted down from a book of
daily devotions which said, “Those who see God’s hand in everything can best
leave everything in God’s hands”. What a great guide to people pursuing a Godly
world view - His hand is in everything. The advice came alive for me again
recently when a pastor suggested we interlink the fingers of our hands and lock
them together as a reminder to live our lives hand-in-hand with God. It’s now a
very fulfilling habit, an inspiration in prayer but in times of contemplation. You
may want to try it - “your right hand
would hold me fast”.
