“All athletes are disciplined in their
training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an
eternal prize.” – 1 Corinthians 9: 25
LIKE an Olympic athlete trains habitually and diligently, Christians
too must dedicate themselves to His Word to earn a place on God’s podium. The
occasional jog with God is not enough. A weekly church visit may ease the
conscience, but spiritual fitness, freedom and success come from dedication to
a lifestyle of loving discipline. Following Christ requires more than just a run
in the park – but the rewards are eternal.
