“Physical training is good, but training
for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life
to come.” – 1 Timothy 4: 8
WHEN the Lord is speaking to you, He can be persistent. He wants us to
get the message. Of late, I believe He has been hammering home the urgency of living
(abiding) in Him by exercising our faith. Earlier this month I wrote a
THINK&PRAY headed “Training for reigning” based on 1 Corinthians 9: 25 which
speaks of being disciplined in your training for His eternal reward. Since
then, and quite separately, I was drawn to Philippians 4: 9 which told us to “Keep putting into practice” all we
have learned from Him. Today the verse above from 1Timothy compels me to again
draw attention to “training for godliness”.
He wants us to be consistently dedicated in what we think, say and do. Practice,
as I have said before, makes perfect.
