Corrected and coddled

“I will punish the descendants because of Solomon’s sin – but not forever.”
  -1 Kings 11: 39

WHAT a wonderful promise that word contains - “but not forever.” The consequences of sin - the suffering and the punishment - have been with us throughout history. But Godly correction of His children is passing, as it should be when parents correct and then coddle naughty children. Christians now live under the grace of God. Any present grief will pass. Because we are forgiven, we must increase our reliance on Christ who will coddle us with a life of a fulfillment, love and obedience.
