“And God’s peace, which is far beyond human
understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus.”
- Philippians 4: 7
IT’S tough enough to focus on life’s priorities when we’re at peace, let
alone when the pressure’s turned up to max. That’s when we must seek God’s help.
The prospect of defeat in some area of our lives is the most common stressful
distraction. The Message’s version of Galatians 5: 22 helps restore inner peace
at such times: It reminds: “But what happens when we live God’s way? He
brings gifts into our lives….things like affection for one another, exuberance
about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things…a
conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people.” Don’t let
stress distract and mislead you; think holy thoughts.
