Small things

GREAT miracles can begin with small things. Whether it is in our own lives, in our nation or in the wider world, it is often seemingly insignificant people, events and feelings that result in the greatest good.
We are told to be like little children before the power of the Holy Spirit will come upon us - and it is standard practice for Him to put the right person, no matter how humble, in the right place at the right time. It could be you, or it could be someone for you. We don’t first have to bulk up physically or build a business empire before God will use us to change the world around us. One of the greatest miracles recorded in the Bible began when Andrew told Jesus, “There is a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish” (John 6: 9).  With that, they fed the 5 000!

Jesus is our great supplier, whether it’s food from the sea and soil, courage, strength, wisdom or any of the gifts of the Spirit. Prayer, trust and a little obedience can go a long, long way when Christ is our guide.
