““We
should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, while
we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God
and Saviour, Jesus Christ, will be revealed.”
– Titus 2: 12 – 13
THAT
is the way the Apostle Paul put it about 2 000 years ago when he told Titus how
the Christians of Crete should live. In more modern parlance, prophet Rick
Joyner wrote this week about “training for reigning”. This just goes to show
that the more things change, the more God stays the same. Only now, given our
circumstances, it is more urgent than ever to practice what we teach and
preach.
God loves us and wants us to live
righteously in His eyes, always aware of the hope of glory, but we must be
devoted to overcoming daily temptations. Joyner compares us to Olympic athletes;
the winners have what it takes but they must be dedicated to training. Victory
is the result of our daily maturing and strengthening in the ways Christ has
already placed in our hearts.
