Christ's the answer

THE author of a new best-selling book about Jesus defies logic. Academic and author Reza Aslan   appeared on prime-time CNN world-wide TV to discuss his book “Zealot - The Life of Jesus of Nazareth’ and stated that though Jesus was his hero and he was trying to emulate Jesus in his life, he, Aslan, remained a practicing Muslim.
In this post-modern world, logic is the basis for belief. No matter how cynical people may be about spiritual belief, mankind is inherently inquisitive, seeking rational answers – and Jesus fits the bill.
People didn’t always understand the full meaning of what Jesus said; even His disciples wondered at first. But by God’s grace, what He said and did provided the best logical reason for believing the gospel. Unless He was a liar, which not even Muslims believe, His word is our salvation. It makes sense. CS Lewis said: “As thirst was made for water; enquiry was made for truth.” So how does author Aslan slake his thirst for truth when he finds it and even tries to emulate it? We pray that his belief in Jesus as a hero will turn to faith. Seeing is believing in academic circles, but faith (Hebrews 1: 11) also gives us proof of what we cannot see.
